Pushing Students to Graduate on Time: Management Program at UMM Holds Final Project Workshop

Friday, September 9 2023 - The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is once again providing strong support to encourage students in the Management Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) to complete their studies on time. The Final Project Workshop for the odd semester of 2023/2024, with the theme "Achieve Your Success Through Timely Graduation," serves as concrete evidence of UMM's commitment to assisting students in achieving academic success.

A total of 580 Management students from the 2020 batch who are currently working on their theses, with various concentrations such as Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, and Operational Management, participated in the workshop held at the Joint Lecture Building (GKB) IV, 9th floor. This event was scheduled to run from 08:00 to 15:00 WIB.

The event was not only attended by students but also supported by the presence of faculty members from the Management program who added to the excitement of the occasion.

The workshop began with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Management Program, Dr. Nurul Asfiah, M.M, and the Vice-Head of the Management Program, Dr. R. Iqbal Robbie, S.E., M.M. In her address, Nurul Asfiah explained that this event is part of the regular activities of the Management program aimed at guiding students to complete their studies on time. Iqbal Robbie added that in the near future, SK (Supervision Letter) guidance will be distributed to all students who have initiated their thesis work.

Next, the workshop featured a presentation on the Fast Track Master's in Management Postgraduate Program by Dr. Aniek Rumijati, M.M. This program provided information on the requirements, benefits, registration process, financing system, and curriculum scheme for students interested in pursuing further education at the master's level.

In the subsequent session, Dr. Rahmad Wijaya, M.M., discussed strategies for expediting the completion of final projects. He provided guidance on roadmaps, positive affirmations, preparation, and planning in the thesis-writing process, with the aim of helping students through their final project work. Additionally, motivation material for completing final projects based on output (UMM Pasti) was also presented to support students psychologically and keep them motivated without feeling overwhelmed.

Yudi Suharsono, S.Psi., M.Si, UMM's Student Affairs Director, provided motivation and shared tips and tricks for successfully completing theses according to the students' set targets.

The final topic before the event's conclusion was on journal publication and citation, briefly explained by Khusnul Rofida Novianti, S.Pd., M.M.

The event concluded with great expectations from the Head of the Management Program, Dr. Nurul Asfiah, M.M. She hopes that after attending this workshop, students will be more motivated to graduate on time by implementing the tips and materials provided by the previous presenters. The event also continued with presentations from each specialization's faculty coordinators to provide an understanding of new concepts and interesting issues that can be taken up as research themes.
