The Management Study Program was originally a Department of Corporate Economics which became the forerunner to the establishment of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The Management Study Program was started in 1984, but the Management Study Program was officially established on February 18, 1985. At the beginning of the establishment, the Management Study Program was led by a Head of Department only. It was only in 1990 that the Head of the Management Study Program was assisted by a Secretary of the Department.
The Management Study Program is growing by starting to improve the curriculum, so that in 1994 the Management Study Program had 4 areas of specialization, namely: Human Resource Management, Production Management, Marketing Management and Financial Management. In 1998, the Management Study Program started to establish a Management Laboratory to provide practical management experience to students who already have the ability to understand management theories.
