Who doesn't want to study abroad? Elrosa Nadia Sukmaningtyas, a 2019 management student at Muhammadiyah Malang University (UMM), also dreams of it. Luckily, through hard work and campus support, he managed to continue his education in another country, including the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program at Hayang University in South Korea.
“What I felt upon learning that I had qualified for the IISMA Laureates was at first happy and touched. Not even a word escaped me when I saw my name there. After a long process I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief. So far, even if I have not attended the destination university, I have gained a lot of experience, starting with how to adapt to what is offered to me, being tolerant because I also meet friends from universities from all over Indonesia, learning to work well in a team, until they learn to be more independent because they are in line with the objectives of the IISMA which require independence and responsibility on the part of students in carrying out a series of programs ". The management student added.
The Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program is a government scholarship of the Republic of Indonesia administered centrally by the Directorate-General for Higher Education, Research and Technology (DGHERT), the Ministry of Education, Culture, of research and technology (MoECRT) in university student funding. Indonesia will have the opportunity to spend a semester at world-renowned partner universities, experience the culture of the destination country firsthand and undertake hands-on activities to improve their skills. The process required to obtain the IISMA scholarship consists of two phases. The first is the selection of applications and the diversity test, then the second is the selection of interviews. The documents to be produced are the required and desired English proficiency score (IELTS, TOEFL iBT or DET), transcript (English), letter of recommendation, several established statements and an essay.
