Malang, January 14, 2024 - The Management Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has successfully conducted a Workshop on Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) in collaboration with the Association of Management Study Programs (APSMA) and International Benchmarking Activities. This two-day workshop, held from January 11th to 12th, 2024, at Hotel Rayz UMM, was the result of collaboration with the Association of Management Study Programs (APSMA) of Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA).
This event served as a crucial platform for curriculum development in management study programs, with the aim of enhancing the quality of education. The workshop was attended by representatives from 25 Management Study Programs across Indonesia affiliated with PTMA. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Nurul Asfiyah, M.M., Chairwoman of APSMA, and Dr. Nur Subeki, S.T., M.M., Vice Rector III of UMM.
The first day began with the keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. M. Syaifuddin, M.M., Head of the Educational Innovation Institute (LIP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. He provided an overview of the formulation of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum. Prof. Syaifuddin emphasized the importance of implementing OBE to achieve more effective and relevant graduate learning outcomes aligned with the needs of the workforce. The formulation of CPL APSMA refers to the implications of the Ministry of Education and Research's policy stated in number 53 of 2023, which regulates the quality standards of higher education through the establishment, implementation, evaluation, assessment, and improvement of higher education standards.
The next session on the first day was delivered by Drs. Sri Gunawan, DBA., Chairman of the Indonesian Management Forum (FMI), who discussed the integration of OBE curriculum with CPL APSMA. Mr. Gunawan explained how OBE-based curriculum design can support the achievement of CPL in line with APSMA standards. He also discussed the potential challenges that management study programs might face in the future, in response to technological advancements and evolving learning innovations.
The second day featured an international workshop with the theme "Consumer Transformation in the Global Era: Challenges and Opportunities." This workshop included a panel discussion led by Dr. Goh Hong Lip from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, who discussed research on qualitative data, digital marketing, and artificial intelligence (AI) development. Furthermore, Dr. Widayat, M.M., Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, presented on the transformation of consumer experiences. Dr. Goh highlighted changes in consumer behavior amidst global economic dynamics and the benefits of technology, especially AI, in understanding these changes. Meanwhile, Mr. Widayat emphasized the importance of transforming consumer experiences as a key factor in winning business competition.
The final session in this workshop was led by Dr. Naelati Tubastuvi, S.E., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Ms. Naelati discussed the Accreditation Discussion of LAMEMBA (Business Management Accounting Accreditation Institution) and OBE-Based Curriculum Review, a highly relevant topic in improving the quality of education, especially in management study programs.
This workshop is expected to provide in-depth insights into OBE-based management learning and foster international research collaboration. Through such collaboration, management study programs in various Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah universities are expected to continue to grow and make significant contributions to improving the quality of their graduates and addressing the rapidly changing challenges of the global era.
